I have formed a band called The Bards of Balance.  In the past two weeks we released our album, Restoring Balance, for digital download.  I know it’s available at CD Baby already and should be available at all audio distribution venues such as iTunes soon.

We also did our first college gig at the Torrington Branch of UConn.  This will be our main target audience.  Our original music is based on the themes from the book I wrote, Systems out of Balance.  Rather than give dry speaking engagements at colleges or elsewhere, my outreach plan is to sing to folks (don’t cringe, I’m not that bad).

The Bards of Balance consists of Kirk Sinclair (me) on vocals and guitar; Matt Papanek on keyboard and vocals; Andrew Thomson on percussion and flutes; and Alex Hotchkiss on drums.  Matt is a talented musician who will be releasing his own album as well.  Andrew is studying composition at Ithaca College.  Alex is a “natural” musician who switched from saxophone to drums fairly recently.

Our style is a mixture of acoustic rock and political folk music.  The music is arranged into five themes for restoring balance:  altruisim, freedom, democracy, the public interest and the quality of life.  You can hear clips of all our songs at The Bards of Balance web site.  You can hear a few songs in their entirety at our MySpace page.

There is also a Music/Producers media kit for the Restoring Balance album under the Products and Services links.

Oh, and HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all!!
