In the summer of 2005 my family hiked the Wonderland Trail, a 98-mile (depending on estimate source) loop around Mt. Rainier in Washington.  Starting at Longmire in the southwest and going clockwise, the hike took nine days.  Our youngest, Serena, was 13.  Charissa was 15 and Noah was 16.

Our first hike in the Dolomites started from the front door of the condo where we stayed, went cross-country up to the trail that traversed the Rosengarten ridge, followed trails up to Coronelle Pass, then looped south on trails until we headed cross-country again to our condo.  Here is a photo journal of that hike.
