The afternoon of Day 6 was the easiest bit of hiking we encountered.  We went 3 miles, mainly downhill on well graded trail, to our one and only resupply point at White River Campground, where we camped that night.

On to Day 6!  This provided the irony of one of the most desolate sections with the closest contact with amenities.  We had lunch near Sunrise, a former resort, and camped at White River Campground, our one and only resupply point during the nine day trip.  In between we were on alpine/subalpine land.

Day 4 brought us up into the subalpine area and snow fields on the north side of Mount Rainier.  There was no rain, but the mountain mist was heavy at higher elevations.
